Above-Ground and In-Ground
Water is lowered below the skimmer, the filtration system is disconnected and protected, plumbing is protected from freezing, winter chemicals go in, and the cover is secured.
Above-ground closings are a little different: an air pillow in the center of the cover takes the pressure of ice, a cable-and-winch winter cover is pulled tight, and the skimmer and return openings are plugged after the water is lowered.
